Proud AR Drone Parrot Owner!

So I've finally managed to acquire a new AR Drone Parrot brought to me all the way from Hong Kong, compliments of an extremely awesome workmate ^_^

I've been after this thing for what feels like decades, no, an era! No wait... an AGE!
Naturally the first order of business is to start experimenting with what it can and can't do!

First order of business is payload, how much can it take till it simply can't take off and achieve reasonable manoeuvring!?  I know this may seem vague but rather than spend hours trying to explain what "reasonable manoeuvring" is, I think it may be easier to say I am a newcomer to the AR Drone so I'm not expecting a great deal of aerobatics from the $300AUD flying toy.  Maybe at a later stage I'll record some video rather than explain myself to a webpage with 0-readers :D

Was pretty awesome taking photos from the AR Drone!  Nathan moves too fast though *narrows eyes* -_-
I think we need some sort of recording tool to capture the video, that NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW! *Nods* TWO cameras and no recording? Pffft @ that *waves to the camera*

ANYWAY !!! Geees !!!!  here goes experiment no.1.
Weight #1 is a High Intensity CREE ML-350 LED torch mounted on top of the camera @ 62grams

Weight #2 is a pretty standard multi-tool pocket knife @ 141grams

multi-tool-weight01

So far the AR Drone compensated quite well whilst attaching these to the center hull area, even mid-flight!  The system compensates for the altitude differential (probably via the ultrasound on the bottom) and fans whirred up to keep it steady and in the same spot :)
Was fun flying it around downstairs with a torch on top with all other lights off :D FUNSKIIIIIIIII

Anyway, more to report later on this wonderful device ^_^
It's FUN, cheap, durable, easy to connect to your iPhone and handles insanely well!  Spying wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the 'swarm of bees' noise it makes in flight *pouts*
Bart is right though, Skynet is just around the corner :(

My New Pad!

Hello there my long forgotten friend !
Been ages since I've posted anything at all only this time it's not because I'm overly stressed (ok so I'm extremely stressed) but more so because life has been awesome and happiness is overflowing.

Part of the reason why I'm so extremely high on life is that I know own my very own awesomely fantastically incredibly sexy pad!!!  That's right!!!

I NOW LIVE IN THE PS3 BUILDING !!! LOL how ironic I work at a games development studio and live in a building that looks like a console we're developing for ^_^

My new Pad - Outside View

So I think I've come to realise I'm a fully grown adult now as I enter the world of mort-gages!  Yay huge debt! LOL that's ok I think I have all the big ticket items covered...

Anyway, enough about that... After one of the most challenging auctions I've seen and, oh yes, TOOK PART IN! I actually found myself bidding on a lovely appartment in one of melbournes iconic, almost new buildings! AND WON!
Don't think my heart ever beat quite that hard before, it was such a massive rush when the auction was escalating and I had little time to catch my breath.  Hands shaking and sweat dripping, I finally took the plunge with my dad and family by my side for support (thanks if you're reading this by the way dad, mum and whole family! Ash, couldn't have done it without you too!)... boom it was mine before I had time to blink, nevertheless, I was in control and I think it was an immensely chellenging and nerve racking experience!  WHAT A RUSH! Love it :)

Now I get to live all the way up there and look out into the streets of St Kilda Rd, Albert Park Lake and the Shrine in a distance ^_^

My new Pad - window view

So speechless I don't know what to say!  A month later and almost at settlement date I'm still marvelling at the beauty of it all!

Carolcha!!! If you ever manage to find this page and read this... I don't think I would have got through these times without you babe ^_^ Much love ^_^ If words could only describe how much I appreciate you being there for me to shower me with awesome tasting food and good company ^_^ now I'm craving beef tartar again <_<     -_-     >_>  HUNGRY!!!

DJ Marky, LTJ Bukem, MC Conrad, Infected Mushroom, Sensation White

So I finally get around to typing up a big MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I feel I could be a bit anally retentive and finally say that I sometimes (just sometimes) hate it when people do the small "xmas" instead of Christmas but I guess in the grand scheme of things WHO CARES!  Maybe I do a bit?  Either way, my blog :) I get to write what I like nes pas?

I've been blessed this year with one glorious event after another.  Despite so much happening as of late... work, stress, more work, more stress followed by a doomed damnation cyclical approach to it all (i.e. more more work and more more stress!) I am actually quite content and this is mainly due to the following.

Last week I had Christmas with the best family in the world, yes, it's true, they're the best family in the whole world!
It took about 20 years of nagging, hints, tips, bragging, constant reminders and a dying grandmother (God bless!!) over a decade ago saying to my Mum "buy him something that Flies!" to FINALLY receive a Remote Control Helicopter Wohooooooooooooo!
I was somewhat surprised by the "but raf we just dont know what to get you" year after year... unwrapping presents -_- I mean I love shirts for Christmas time and all but HELICOPTER!!!!!! Seriously, it flies! It really does *hugs it*
I'll post photos sometimes when it's not 3am and I, umm.. take some O_o

After Xmas followed Sensation White!  The most epic event of the century with an Ocean Theme!  Jelly fish swaying above us and some of the best friends the Universe can provide me to accompany on such an awesome journey of fun n dance!  Seriously, what more could I ask for?  I mean could anything really beat Green, Blue, Yellow Lasers, Fountains, Fire, 40,000+ People, Awesome friends (You know who u are!) and epic music???

Well.... actually one thing can (sorry guys), but what are the chances really yeah?  A surprise appearance from one of my 2 favorite drum n bass DJ's maybe?  Say, DJ Marky, playing brazillian music followed by Jackson 5, mixed with KrissKross, tinge of ACDC and some JUMP AROUND music all mingled in with Sugar Hill Gang!!! Ok OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK....  It doesn't beat those awesome nights, not unless you throw hard house, followed by brazillian/latin music then dive straight into the pioneers of dnb that started it all?  OLD SCHOOL JUNGLE!!!!!!

YES, THE TYPE THAT WOULD TURN THE HARI KRISHNA INTO A BAD BOY! YOU KNOW IT!

humantraffic

So all in all, that's awesome, and what more could I ask for to satisfy ones audio mental lyrical requirement filled with the best frequencies the electronic world has to offer a....

Hang on...

INFECTED MUSHROOM!  When?  They're Back? I thought they just played in the NYD thing?
WRONG!  They're playing on Wednesday night too and we're going... wwwwwooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

*dies*

bi-yearly review!

So it seems I very rarely write these days.  Why I chose today of all days though is that for the first time in months, I've actually got absolutely nothing to do which is perhaps the best feeling in the world right now!

Sometimes I feel the need to write away on a blog-style website that's purely mine ! ^_^ I can write anything I want and share anything I want with the world... even though only 298 people have visited this page thus yet! LOL
Just makes one feel so free and it gives me such a ^_^ feeling <--- that's me not knowing what word to give the ^_^ feeling lol

So bested most awesome amazing friend in the world Ben is finally joining the ranks of BlueTongue to get a glimpse into the world of IT and I'm totally looking forward to opening the floodgates of information flow to a new recruit.  I hate to say it but I actually like venting away all the tech. knowledge, partly coz I'm a geek at heart even though I don't always act it... ok most the time I do.

Going back further, I guess there's been too many things to report.  Fun times left right and center!!!

Addicted to Sons of Anarchy at the moment, I can't stop watching it!  God it's so enthralling and I absolutely love all the characters... miss married with children, her lover hellboy and most of all Jax! WOOOHOO lol
It's pretty much Sopranos hey!  Only biker gang style -_- Tony would be so proud of em lol

I think if Tony was alive and kicking in a followup season of Sopranos, he would totally wish Jax was his own son.  He'd be so proud of him lol would be an endless tv show of hugging though -_- so odd the hugs -_- wooo

Ok I'm going to keep adding to this so don't worry if you see the unfinished business.

I think it's time for a poll though.... COMPLETE THE POLL IF YOU SEE IT.  I bet no one visits this website anyway though lol... should raf go to rainbow? -_-

Cirque Du Soleil - Dralion

Well I guess I haven't written much in the past few months, nothing since October 2008 actually...  I find this rather odd, some thought it's because I haven't had much to write about when in fact, there has been WAY too much to write about, review and make note of so that one day I can look back on this and go waow, that was AWESOME!

I have to admit, I'm going to stray from my headline topic!  Correct, it says Cirque Du Soleil but I might give a bit of background as to what I've been doing in some kind of super-condensed-summarized form of story telling -_-

Let's see, October 2008, I can barely remember the big events and there's just been way way way too many!!!!!  All the goings on at cookie, house parties, raverlicious events combined with drum'n'bass events and the countless tuesday burrito nights (housemates thing with special guest appreances by many a friends!)... aaaah too many things.

One thing I failed to mention right now is that I've been at work taking care of an entire infrastructure, mind you, one that is on the verge of collapse and HAS collapsed a couple of times *sigh* won't get into THAT... but also doing desktop, licensing, budgets, dealing with politics and if you know me well enough you'd also know... I try to make sure everyone is happy, smiling and pleased with the IT Department... you know... the IT Team (of 1) which is absolutely positively incredibly impossible (unprobable?) to accomplish!  This has robbed me of my sanity and it's been a tough nut working for small potatoes in an environment filled with awesome people (well, ok some annoying -_-)...

Where was I *thinks* oh yeah--- It's been hard to find any time to type or update my blog! That's just that... no time at all!
This must change offcourse because I've had my fire and passion and all those wonderful span'ishy words fuel my thirst to make more dnb sets.  Not to mention a few people at work encouraging me and it's been an absolute thrill making music and knowing people will listen!

Not everyday you make a heavy KrachMacher style Set and people say "wow that's awesome I want more"...

Anyway, on with the show...

I've restructured IT at work with the help of my awesome IT manager, Establishing policies and auditing everything to make things fit...
I went to Sensation White at New Years Eve which I can't emphasise enough how AWESOME it was... I thought it was one of the best events ever offcourse *nodS*
I've been to Bad Company and Fierce @ Roxanne's parlour with wonderfully awesome, nice and dnb loving fans from work!!! ROCK ON!!!
Hmmm what else, *scratches head*, Well I have a huge alco collection now to make virtually any cocktail?  Ok not any but it's close enough?  There's everything from TripleSec to Dry Vermouth and Amaretto (which bart calls Dr.Pepper Liquere lol).

Lately though, and by that I mean on Sunday... I went to... Cirque Du Soleil...

I feel I don't have the necessary words, thoughts, creativity or ability to explain or review this event because it surpassed all my expectations and left me with a rather insane mental state that pushed me to go and book tickets for my entire family to go see it.

The MUSIC... waow... a soundtrack simply astounding, amazing and original!  No more repeats of The Rock remixed into Gladiator remixed into Pirates of the Carr--- well you get the point!
The COSTUMES... I don't know where to begin, the east meets the west in Dralion, perhaps I should have started with that!  It's Dragons meet Lions... and all the costumes the human brain can imagine for such an extraordinary event!
The PERFORMANCES... Unbeatable, I've simply never seen anything like it, from the trampoline acts to the hoop performances

THESE DUDES HAVE SKILLZ YO!  If that's not enough, how about this... Guy Laliberte (the founder) is a massive poker player... I mean seriously, you gotta go see this show! lollll ok non-related items i know but still!

I basically have no photos (not allowed) and no power right now to browse and upload and link images but hopefully in the coming days I will?

This ladies and gentlemen is a show unmatched in its field... I dare anyone to lead me to an experience better than Cirque Du Soleil - Dralion! 10/10
